TWISTEDPAW - TOM - 10 MONTHS - SOLARCLAN
Shoulders stiffened as Sky suddenly lunged toward him, and it was through sheer force of will alone that Soma kept from reflexively striking out to defend himself. He wasn't used to cats just casually touching him, but as expected there was no ill will that came from Sky when their pa connected with his shoulder- just a gigle and the declaration of Tag, your it! before they were bolting off into the flower fields, leaving a very confused tomcat sitting in grass behind them.
What the hell was a 'tag'?
Perhaps if he'd had siblings or friends he'd have known, but it was hard to play those kind of games with skulls, which were the only company that had ever been able to stomach Twisted long term.
From context though, it was easy enough to determine that Sky intended for Twisted to chase after them, and while the bi-color tomcat couldn't fathom why, if thats what the other apprentice wanted...
The chase didn't get a chance to go very though. Skypaw seemed to disapear among the tall grass and flower stems as if he were one of them, and despite the fact that Twisted was a tall cat who had height on his side, it didn't do much to help when the other apprentice wasn't even causing so much as a blade of grass to sway, leaving the dark, towering figure standing amongst the floral looking confused.
He tried to catch scent of the other, but between the stale foxscent and the dozens of flowers all giving off their own fragrence, it was difficult for him to pick out the others scent. Not surprising considering he knew his tracking skills were shit anyways, but still. Damn. Maybe Sky didn't want to be found? Maybe this was their way of giving Twisted the slip so that they didn't have to tell him how weird he was to his face.
Disapointing, but it wouldn't have been the first time.
He tried for a few more moments to pick up their trail and managed to catch it a few times, but he always seemed to lose it after a few seconds, only farther driving home the idea that he'd been ditched. Should he call out? He'd look pretty stupid calling out to a cat that wasn't there... but what if they were still around and he just couldn't find them because they were that good.
"Um, I can't really chase you if I can't find you.." he called awkardly into the flowers, looking around for any sign that the other tom was still around.
