There was a stiffness to movements as ginger paws moved across the packed ground of Lunarclan camp. There was a slight limp to a feline as they made their way to the fresh kill pile and huffed as nothing seemed appetizing in that moment. The long haired ginger tomcat shook out his coat for a moment before settling down a few tail lengths from the fresh kill pile. Firepaw wasn't really a sociable cat, often sticking to himself for the most part, and he normally didn't have a drive to interact with othes'. Though right then he'd give anything for something to do as his shoulder hurt so bad and he just needed to get it stretched out.
Firepaw lashed his fluffy ginger tail back and forth for a moment, ears flicking back against his head and a growl leaving his lips. Rage boiled in his chest and he pushed himself up roughly, flinching at the pinch sensation that radiated through his shoulder. Annoyed now while also angry, blue hues looked around for a moment for a cat- any cat- to drag out with him to go hunting or something outside the suffocating content of camp.
Then he spotted a familiar pelt, and beelined for it. Windpaw. They weren't exactly close, acquaintances at best, but they were familiar. They didn't have to have extensive conversation or nothing like that, "Windpaw," Firepaw spoke curtly, tensely, and nodded at the other apprentice, "Do you want to come out on a walk with me?"

Green eyes blinked softly as she turned to look at the cat whom called her name turning slightly her gaze settled on the figure of Firepaw someone she knew only due to the close quarters of the apprentice den at time. When he asked if she wanted to join him in for a walk she took but a moment to think before knodding her head "of course I'll come for a walk Firepaw." She replied her voice light she took in the toms appearance knowing he didn't interact much with others she had been surprised at first that he had asked her anything.
Though she was happy to go with, it gave her a break from standing around waiting for the next order to do something she could take the initiative and do something herself, now that she was only two moons away from being a warrior. She was a little tired of trying to do every task she could in a day.

Those green hues of Windpaws' turned on Firepaw upon his words, and the ginger tabby tomcat flicked his ears slightly in response. Those things could stare a hole through him he swore, but that was just how he felt about most cats' looking directly at him. Like they knew some secret he didn't but then again-maybe that was the paranoia. Regardless, Windpaw accepted the offer to go on a walk with him and he nodded in response. Turning tail without another word before flicking his tail for her to follow along with him.
Firepaw hated being in the middle of camp doing nothing. He liked to be out and about, doing something productive, so sitting around camp wasn't ideal. Still paws made for a mess in his opinion. Though as they walked along through the marshes, the young tomcat glanced to his brown-pelted feline friend for a moment before speaking once more as if the moment occurred to him to talk, "How has training been going for you?" A simple question, but it felt like a weight settled over his chest.
They were nearly two months from becoming warriors' and he didn't know how to feel about it. It felt like just yesterday that they had been apprenticed and now they where suddenly going to be warriors. It was a little nerve wracking but of course Firepaw wouldn't say anything about it out loud. He was more inclined to keep things to himself than anything else, until it exploded of course which happened often enough.

Windpaw followed Firepaw out of camp content to just walk if that is what Firepaw chose to do and just wanted the company. Though Windpaw knew of the injury that had kept Firepaw in the medicine cat den for a bit while it healed she knew nothing of what had happened and didn't want to pry into things her nose had no place to be. So as they padded along she sort of expected it to remain quiet as she enjoyed the free movement being out of camp gave.
Her ears flicked in Firepaws direction when he spoke asking her how her training was going seemed today would be different than what she was used to but that was alright.
"My training is alright Palecloud, has been patient enough with me. Though I feel no where close to being a warrior." She chuckled her reply.

The fiery tomcat nodded in agreement to the others words, "I feel the same. It was like yesterday we had just been made apprentices and now theye expect us to be adults? Its a litt insane," Firepaw commented back with an idle twitch of his fluffy tail. Probably the most hes ever spoken to someone but Windpaw made it easy. She didnt stipulate him nor talk to him like he was some moron. Windpaw seemed genuine in her approach to others and it was what made her such a comfort cat to Firepaw. They wondered on in silence for a moment longer before the tomcat looked at her once more, "What do you think your warrior name will be?" He was interested in what she had to say. Firepaw hoped his was something notable and noble, something to express his loyalty to Lunarclan.

Windpaw thought for a bit wondering as they continued to pad along what fits me?.. moor, no that seems weird. badger... she almost giggled at that one when had she ever seemed like a badger it was very unlikely for that one stream.. that one seems more like me. "I think maybe Windstream,what about you any ideas on what yours might be?" she questioned thinking about her warrior name had her a little excited for it but she also felt sad knowing that being an apprentice she didn't have as much responsibility that the warriors seemed to that part was what she did not look forward to.

He never really thought about it, his warrior name, and he gave a slight shrug in response to her question, "I don't know, maybe something cool like Firefrost cause of my aloof nature or maybe something like Firefur? I do not know," He trusted that whatever name he got it would be a good one, and it would be something he would be proud to have one day. Firepaw looked to Windpaw for a moment before giving the she-cat a small nudge with his larger head, "Windstream is pretty cool though, do you think our leader takes recommendations?" He gave a slight smile, it was awkward and wobbly but he was trying.

Windpaw considered what Firepaw said it was correct they couldn't know what name would be given to them when the time came but she hoped it truly suited them she had heard what seemed like scary stories about cats getting names that truly brought down their morale and spirits because it reflected something they didn't want to be known by. That seemed sad to her as well though she was sure that Wisteriastar was not like that though she knew there was a possibility to be surprised she had some confidence though not whole blind trust. When Firepaw complimented the name she thought of she gave a soft purr "Maybe, though she might have a better name." she replied lightly a small tilt to her head. She wouldn't mind a different name Windstream had only come to mind because it went together after all but she was sure that there was something that fit her more.
A small noise made her ears perk up as she thought about whether it might be prey or was it something else? She questioned trying to zero in on where the sound was coming from to get a better judge on it.

The young apprentice looked up at Windpaws' sudden interest in the distance and perked up his own ears in response. Was there something in the distance that he couldn't see? Firepaw bristled slightly in thought that it might be a threat of some kind, like a fox or badger, but he wasn't sure. The ginger tabby tomcat moved forward and past the brown tabby cat beside him to investigate the idea further. Though as they got closer it seemed like it was more or less prey that they were spotting. Thankfully he let his fur flatten slightly and looked back towards Windpaw with a small nod, encouraging her to go after the prey animal if she so chose to do.

The she-cat watched as Firepaw moved to intercept the sound she picked up that was until it was discovered that it was just prey she heard and he looked back to give her a small nod she wasn't sure if it was more of a its okay its not a predator or something else though as she thought about she was enjoying the time out of the camp they were having and so she shrugged a bit "It's alright we can hunt on the way back instead less time to carry what prey we find." she suggested tail flicking lightly as she picked up her pace a little to catch up the short distance Firepaw had made checking out the sound.
