5 Years Before Clan (BC)
A large group of cats has arrived at the lake territories, A haven for the group to be able to have shelter and prey. There was plenty for everyone, and they welcomed new cats with open paws. The mountains are an overlooking protector against harsh storms. The plentiful herbs would help them in case of injuries, and twolegs were far enough away the cats no longer had to fear their meddling.
4 years BC
As time went on the large clowder of cats only grew in number thanks to the blessings of the lake, and this began to cause issues. Some would go hungry because not enough were able to hunt for themselves, or not enough prey was stockpiled. Tensions were getting high from hungry cats...
3 Years BC
War soon broke out as cats began to starve, and in anger and temperament began stealing from others in order to survive. Stories of blood coating the grass, and bodies laying unburied. Ravens would be found on the corpses, and mournful cries echoed throughout the lands.
The Beginning of the Clans
Finally, all of the fighting and hatred came to a head, with cats from all the different splintered groups meeting to have one last battle to the death. But just as the first of the fighting was about to happen, the earth seemed to roar beneath their paws, cracking its surface and striking fear into the hearts of all those gathered.
It was then that four cats, who had been told of their destiny in a dream and tired of the chaos and killings, stepped forward demanding a ceasefire and offering a solution; to finally splinter off into four smaller and more manageable clowders. Cats would follow behind the new leaders and the four clans we know today were created, each one choosing and settling into the territories that best suited them. However, even with the formation of the clans, many were still unsure that the others would keep their promises. And so the leaders decided that the first meeting shall be between just them, the time of the full moon being chosen; when the forest was brightest and attacks were less likely, and the very first gathering was held.
At this meeting, things went less smoothly than expected, and when tempers were about to rear their ugly heads, cats with stars in their pelts and stardust trailing their paws appeared before them; calming the tense atmosphere. These would be the ancestors and the cats who would come to be called Astralclan. With their help, territories were solidified and borders were made, the rankings and the mentor/apprentice system were put in place, the Glowing Pool was shown to them, and it would be there that the first leaders were gifted nine lives to lead their clans. Not all was well, however, for as the leaders readied themselves to return home, they were given another warning; to find healers for a future threat that even the ancestors could not fully decipher. Though the warning made them uneasy, the leaders went back to their respective homes, and for a whole season things would appear peaceful, the warning soon and foolishly forgotten.
1 Year AC (After Clan); 6 moons ago IC
A large cat-like beast begins terrorizing the clans; killing and kidnapping cats for sport. The 4 clan leaders would suddenly remember Astralclans’ warning from the First Gathering and aided by dreams, found and appointed the very first medicine cats. The cats were led to the Glowing Pool where Astralclan blessed them with medical knowledge as well as charging them with the responsibility to find apprentices of their own and to pass down this knowledge to them.
Despite the healers, The Beast ravaged the lake territories and eventually, the four leaders would volunteer to lure it away, believing their nine lives made them immortal, and attempt to kill it once and for all. However, none of them return, seemingly having not understood, that even lives gifted by the stars had their limits of what they could heal.
Present day, the beginning of Roleplay
The New leaders are struggling with their new responsibilities; times are tense. Small skirmishes between clans are frequent, most ending in severe injuries or even death. Now a strange sickness is spreading, but can the clans work together to defeat it? Or will they end up tearing each other apart?
