Tandempaw
Eventideclan Apprentice
they/them
before the fire,
burn it all down
burn it all down
The warmth of the green leaf sky beat down upon the marshes of Eventideclan. The brooks nearby babbled onwards as if nothing where to disturb them and creeks roared as they rushed by without a second thought. Standing upon a long was a smaller figure, one that looked down at the bottom of the rock and a smirk crossed a red and black muzzle, "We're almost there! Don't worry its just a few more tail lengths!" Then the figure hopped down from the moss log, splashing into a muddy puddle that sat on the other side though the mud didn't seem to deter the young feline. Paws moved across the ground as trotting picked up the pace a little bit and there was a small hum in the tone of the young cats' voice as they rounded a bend in the brook.
Tandempaw had decided a good idea was to get away from camp. Get as far away as possible and relax for the time being, and they knew that the other cat along with them would enjoy that. Or so was the hope in any case. Deadpaw was always under the guise of her father, always judged, so they thought that bring her out here would help. Tandempaw and the young point she-cat had been friends since they wher young. Since Tandempaw was brought to Eventideclan by Periwinklestar though it was after Deadpaws' mother passed away. So there was a lot of mourning when they had arrived and it was a vidid memory they still held onto. Of cats sitting around a body weeping, and them just standing there unsure of what to do or how to handle it.
Death was a strange thing. It was meant to be saddening, that cats where meant to mourn, but at the time Tandem had spent a good aount of time just huddled beside their parents bodies till he was brought in. The young apprentice looked back once more for a moment as if Deadpaw could read their thoughts or something and know their numbness to death. To the fact it wasn't sad and just a fact of life. People died, it was just how it was but that was a pretty dark way to think. So, best to keep it to themselves.
Then they came to a small dip in the ground where a pile of water lillies sat, and they grinned brightly before turning back to their companion, "We're here!" They cheered excitedly with a wave of a ginger tail. The ground sloped downwards into a small pond-like circle and the creek ran through it with a small gurgling sound. The lillies where white and bloomed with such beauty it was a shame of what they had planned to do to them.
