"Greenleaf hunting sucks." Petrelpaw complains to Chestnutleaf as they pick their way across the mountainside at the rear of the patrol. In the warmer weather, the lower slopes are barren of their usual frosty white coat - and, with their pale fur, Petrelpaw has so far had no luck in their little hunting expedition today. She's starting to feel the pressure of her impending warriorhood, and with her assessment looming coming back to camp with no prey in paw would be nothing short of humiliating.

It was hard enough traversing the mountain without an apprentice's grumblings echoing against the caverns and stealing prey. [smear:#9A5253]"If you have time to grumble, then you should be scenting the air instead, kit."[/smear:#EDBEAA:0] Milkthorn would throw an easy smile over her shoulder to show that her words though sharp were only said in jest. She-cat - 32 moons - She/Her - Warrior of Borealisclan - Apprenticing: Petrelpaw Chestnutleaf had it a bit easier then her apprentice, the darkness of most of her coat allowed for her to blend into the surrounding areas a bit more than the white fur of Petrelpaw's, though Chestnutleaf had shown that using a bit of dust or mud dulled the coat enough to blend with their territory Petrelpaw seems not to like the idea at least so far. Hearing the she-cats complaints about hunting in green leaf her voice easily carrying since she hadn't adjusted it to be low enough not to hit and echo around them. She didn't react wondering if Petrelpaw herself would realize. That was until Milkthorn spoke telling Petrelpaw to scent the air for prey instead of grumbling and let them know what she found making the she-cat bite her tongue a little, she believed she had a mouth she could ask her apprentice herself which she would have but no use repeating another's words when it was not in confirmation of what was said. So she just glanced at her fellow warrior a blank expression on her face so that she didn't show her slight annoyance at the other telling her apprentice what she could do, it was nice to have other warriors help at times but others she liked being able to instruct her apprentice herself and wasn't always the quickest one to speak. She then glanced to Petrelpaw giving the she-cat a small nod to see what she could scent around them.

i will always be proud of you. A hunting patrol was exactly what was needed to stretch the limbs and wake the sleepiness from older bones. Whitepath had followed out Milkthorn, Petrelpaw and Chestnutleaf into the wilderness of Borealisclan territory. The mountain was vast and had secrets hidden away in cracks and crevices that no one would look at twice. He wondered if anything out here would tell them about the cats before them, but that was a story for another time. Whitepath trailed along behind Chestnutleaf, giving a small annoyed look at Milkthorn when he gave an order to his child. Chestnutleaf was the mentor of Petrelpaw and he didn't like the over stepping of boundaries. Though the she-cat didn't seem to mind all that much and simply nodded for the young cat to go ahead and scent for something. The large main coone cat nodded at his child, encouraging them to tell them what was around them. Speech
