THE UNIVERSE MUST HAVE DIVINED THIS. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? |
Dipperstar coughed, her chest painful as she took in air. Her eyes weren’t as vibrant as she emerged from her den. The tabby looked sickly, the illness going around the camp taking its toll on her body. The leader took careful steps, dizziness skewing her vision. Dipperstar scrapped her paws against the ground as she walked, trying to get to the high rock in the center of camp. Please AstralClan, let me get there. The cinnamon tabby’s breathe rasped in her chest, wheezing. The feline had the duty to her clan. AstralClan knew that she was trying. Stars above, she was.
One of her warriors helped her as they noticed her struggling to climb upon High Rock. With a swift nod, she uttered her thanks to the NPC. The SolarClan leader laid down, it was the only way she would make it through this meeting. She made herself visible to the cats below as she called out in a raspy, harsh voice.
"All cats old enough to hunt in the daylight, gather beneath High Rock for a clan meeting," Dipperstar spoke to her clan, coughing at the end of her sentence into her chest fur. "Thank you all to those who have been active in the clan. AstralClan knows that we are struggling through this illness. I apologize that I have not myself known in some time."
She had made a promise, hadn’t she? Now, they were struggling more than ever. The leader sighed, searching for the one cat that she was calling the meeting for. Dipperstar’s eyes locked onto the brown tabby, a soft smile curling he lips slowly. Her apprentice had grown in such a short time. She was now over 12 moons. She had failed in her duty to promote her on time. With a flick of her tail, she motioned Lilypaw forward.
"Lilypaw, you have grown immensely under the tutelage of Stormjaw and myself. You have proven yourself a dedicated and loyal warrior of SolarClan. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code as a warrior of SolarClan?" Dipperstar was trying to make this quick as her energy was draining, waiting for her response. As the apprentice agreed, the proud mentor continued. "Then before the powers of StarClan, I name you Lilybeam for your positivity and dedication. You will sit vigil tonight before you join your fellow warriors in the warriors’ den."
She waited for the cheers. The leader wondered if she had more to discuss today. She had been out of the loop. The feline looked to her deputy, hoping that she would tell her of other items that had been a concern.
